TSB Ch8 page 3. Don't remember the number, but it should be in the Volume 1 folder.

This is ok with webmanga but I prefer screen tones over all. That is how real manga is made not using greyscales.

This is true. I always sucked at screentones, so I had to make a workaround, but I've gotten used to it!

This is super helpful. In a way it's all just a mix of basics but it just helps having someone clarify the process step by step.

Thank ye kindly, good sir.

One quick question; i know it's an 8x11 sheet of paper but what does that become when scanned in terms of pixels and dpi?

I just ask because when i use stroke for the panel borders it looks a little thin. I'm just going to adjust it as appropriate for now but it's still good to know.

Well, depends on what DPI you scan it at. I think the ideal size for me was 200 dpi. Then I grabbed it and free transformed it down to a preset size - about 1200 x 900. I had a very temperamental scanner, so some times it would only scan in 300 dpi, which took a lot longer. But I'd recommend scanning at a resolution 200 or more.

I was scanning at 300, which i guess explains the thinness. I'll play around with the next piece i scan.

Thanks again!

hmm..well ive have been thinking of making my comics in a fast, but decent and fair quality of work...
so i wouldent be wasting so much time with just one page.....i cant ink for crap, but seeing this, maybe i can just make minimal inking, then enhance it in PS,mangastudio....etc.

This has pointed out several different points that I've never knew about o.o.

I don't use Photoshop or CW but I use the GIMP which is the poorman's verison of Photoshop xD. I'll be sure to remember some of these points as I'm creating my own Manga. I'm mainly doing colored, as I don't know how to color in gray scale really well o.o
